Each September the Macon County Fireman's Association works closely with Southwestern Community College to sponsor the Western North Carolina Area Fire, Rescue, EMS & Law Enforcement College.

The 2010 College will be our 23rd and takes place September 10-12. The Fire College is held at Macon Middle School in Franklin, North Carolina and attracts students from all over Western NC. Each year more than 300 people enroll for this event.

The Macon County Fireman's Association works to draw vendors to this College as well as supplying refreshments for fire classes. Member Fire Departments supply fire trucks and other equipment needed for class training.
